Behind our shop doors in Summerville, SC, a community-focused, family-owned business thrives, led by me, Angela Humphries, the founder and heart of Sew Fabulous. With over 17 years of experience and a dedication to my craft, my journey is about much more than sewing—it’s about service, passion, and creating meaningful connections.
My Journey: From Hobby to Sew Fabulous
My expertise is built on years of training, practice, and a deep commitment to my work. What began as a beloved hobby quickly turned into a thriving business, moving from my home studio into a storefront, and then expanding yet again to accommodate the incredible demand for my services. The transition from hobbyist to business owner came naturally as my client base grew, fueled by my ability to deliver impeccable results with personal care.
As Sew Fabulous grew, I was fortunate to build an incredible team of skilled professionals who share my passion for quality and craftsmanship. Watching this business thrive has been an incredible journey, and I feel so grateful for the trust my clients place in us. It’s an honor to be a part of their lives, helping them with everything from wedding dress storage and bridal alterations to custom embroidery and branded apparel.

My dedication to craftsmanship extends to every stitch—altering wedding gowns, customizing uniforms, or creating branded apparel for local businesses. Each garment is given the personal attention it deserves, tailored to perfection with an eye for detail that brings my clients’ visions to life.
But I couldn’t do it alone. I’m fortunate to work alongside an incredibly talented and dedicated team that shares my commitment to excellence. Built on a foundation of collaboration and care, our amazing team of 15 fosters a healthy, happy, and fun work environment, making Sew Fabulous a truly special place to be. With over 280 years of combined sewing experience, we’ve mastered countless techniques and styles, ensuring that every piece we create is crafted with care and precision. Their expertise allows Sew Fabulous to offer a wide range of services while maintaining the personalized touch our clients have come to trust.
Earlier this year, I had the heartfelt honor of altering a special biker vest for Kristy, which belonged to her late husband. Tailoring it to fit Kristy not only physically but also emotionally, with embroidered patches to match, I felt the love and remembrance woven into every stitch. Seeing her joy and the love she carries in wearing it is why I do what I do.
Supporting Our Summerville Community and Beyond
My commitment to service extends well beyond my sewing machine. Originally from England, I’ve built a life here in Summerville, where I, my husband Dale, and our three daughters—Olivia, Genevieve, and Amelia—are deeply woven into the fabric of this community. I’m proud to support Summerville’s first responders, law enforcement, and military personnel, often volunteering my time and skills to help local initiatives. My involvement goes even further through my church, Crossroads Community Church, and I regularly donate to charitable causes.
In recent weeks alone, Sew Fabulous has had the privilege of sponsoring meaningful community events like the Denim & Diamonds fundraiser for breast cancer awareness, The Quest by The Complete Combatant at the Blue Line Ponies Retirement Range, and the 2024 Scooters for Hooters motorcycle ride supporting breast cancer awareness, just to name a few. This dedication to community service truly exemplifies the spirit of Sew Fabulous.
Outside of Sew Fabulous, I’m passionate about personal growth and sharing my skills through teaching and training. I work part-time as an EMT with Dorchester County EMS, where I’m also a member of the bike team. Additionally, I dedicate time to firearms training and instruction, teaching gun safety, responsible ownership, and self-defense to women in my community. I currently teach at Live Fire Training Academy in Cottageville and another local range, and I’m in the final stages of launching my own firearms training company, OnPoint Personal Defense.
Being part of this community means giving back in every way I can, both professionally and personally.

For me, Sew Fabulous isn’t just about tailoring. I’m passionate about helping businesses create lasting impressions through custom embroidery. A Labor of Love for the Community and Craft
My love for sewing is matched only by my love for teaching it. I offer private sewing lessons for both adults and children, sharing the skills and joy of sewing with future generations. Outside of work, you can find me cruising on one of my Harley-Davidsons, spending quality time with my family, or serving my church and community.
